Kevin Papenfuss is a Salem, NH based photographer. A molecular
biologist by day, photography has grown to ever-increasing importance in
his life. Kevin is primarily a nature photographer, preferring to
take pictures of flowers, animals, scenic vistas and the like. His
photographic landscape sprawls from the mountains of New Hampshire and the
coast of Maine to the deserts of Arizona and the rain forests of Costa
Rica.
OK, enough of the third person.
I find things to shoot nearly everywhere I go. It doesn't matter to
me whether I'm standing on the rim of the Grand Canyon or if I'm on my
hands and knees taking pictures of a tiny flower in my hometown of
Chelmsford, MA. Good photographic subjects are all around me.
I have never taken any classes in this, but rather have taught myself new
techniques as the need has arisen.
For those who are curious, I have
piles of equipment. I shoot with a Canon 40D with battery grip.
I use Sigma lenses, including 28-70mm f/2.8, 50mm 1:1 macro, 18-200mm,
28-300mm, 10-20mm. I use a Canon 430EX flash. I believe I'm
now up to somewhere around 19GB of Compact Flash cards. There's also
some portrait lighting equipment, a Canon Digital Rebel, a couple compact
cameras and various accessories for all of the above. Did I mention
I'm a little obsessed?
